Welcome to the new and improved holritzphotography.com!

Blogging has been an important part of our business and our relationships with clients, colleagues, friends, and family for a couple of years now, and we realized that there was really no reason to continue to use a traditional gallery-based website as our main site. With this in mind, we've combined the best of both worlds. We are thrilled with the opportunity to continue relationship building with those of you who are connected to us through our blog. We want you to get to know us. We'll be sharing our recent sessions and weddings, family fun times, and industry excitement. Whether you're a potential client, a current client, a photographer, a friend, or family, this is the place to come for news and the latest pictures from Holritz Photography and the Holritz family! We also want to get to know you, so leave us comments and let us know you've stopped by.

Site navigation is simple. You can either click on the links across the top of the site, or you can rollover the images of us above.

For those of you who want to reminisce a little and see old blog posts, you can still see our old blog here .

OK, formalities are out of the way, now sit back, relax, and enjoy hanging out with us for a while!

love is.

Sometimes people just touch your soul.

Today, John and Theresa... Baby Anna Catherine... and newborn Baby Kaitlyn completely touched mine.

Baby Kaitlyn decided she wanted to join the world a little early... two months early, in fact. Today, she is not quite four weeks old, which is still negative one month, in theory. And yet, she has the strongest little body (and I do mean little!) the brightest, most alert eyes, and the sweetest disposition. I know that I am going to be so happy to know her when she grows up. What a fighter.

All my love to John and Theresa... I am so proud of the way you have raised Anna Cat. She's going to be an amazing big sister, you just watch and see.

I can't wait to see you again... but until then, I hope you enjoy your slideshow.

love is... the four of you!

love is... not quite 5 pounds of baby... learning about this big world.
love is smiles... no matter what anyone says they are,
inspecting fingers and toes, and realizing that against all odds, everything is perfect, and
4 generations of sleeping.
love is waking up to smiling faces... daddy home from work early, and
people taking care of you... never letting you fall.
love is 13 months of joy, wrapped into an adorable baby girl.
love is learning about your baby sister,
spending time together,
and laughing so hard you cry.
love is finishing the nursery... after the baby gets here, since she came just a wee bit early.
love is just trying to figure everything out.
love is... feeling in control.
love is learning mom's face.
lots of love
:)

Shooting with the best...
Tuesday, August 05, 2008

Awhile back, I had the opportunity to photograph a wedding alongside of my dear friend Corey McNabb in Asheville, NC. It's a privilege to occasionally shoot as Corey's second, as I am continually challenged by him, and constantly learning from him. It's a brilliant experience.

I'm finally getting around to blogging a few images from that wedding, and I'm super excited, because Corey's next workshop (with me as a guest speaker) is coming up soon...It's another HUGE learning opportunity.  A few seats have opened up, so I thought I'd throw you guys a quick reminder that it's not too late to sign up. In addition, I have a discount code for any of my blog-stalkers that sign up for the workshop. The code is NAH080805BLG. Use it and you will receive $100 off the registration price. You need to call the studio at 877.254.4954 or email us at katie@coreymcnabb.com in order to use it.

Okay, without further ado, just a few of my images from the wedding... and a cool one of Corey in action! I hope to see some of my blog friends in Asheville in a few weeks!

Corey, thanks so much for allowing me to come and hang out with you. You know how much I appreciate you. Can't wait 'til the workshop!

The beautiful bride: Nan.
Jonas' first look...
Love the expressions on all these faces.
A few portraits before heading back to the reception.
I LOVED all this color!
I can't wait to see Corey's images from this same time frame... the location where they married, Homewood, is such a cool place.
Love this moment during the impromptu parents dances.
Nan has such a great sense of humor!
The man himself in action.
Loved the light here.
and the emotion, here.
A few crazy kiddos on the dance floor.
the end!
Too much fun!

Fun Sunday.
Monday, August 04, 2008

Random emotional post... We'll be back to our regularly scheduled business when it's not Fun Sunday ;)

So today was Fun Sunday, and in an effort to *not* work, there was no photography going on... not that I think I could've photographed much in the movie theatre without making people a little upset..

But I did want to take a second, at the end of a fun-filled family day, to tell my blog-world how much I love my adorable little family. We've recently added a cat to our family, and I think I'll officially introduce her next week. (If you can't wait that long, you can visit the iBlog for a few iPhone images.) Anyway, the inclusion of Flare (our kitty) has made our family unit complete, and I am so happy to have all four of them!

nathan: you're the greatest business and family partner a gal could ask for. we've had 8 crazy years... and i'm just amazed at all that has happened in that time! who would've thought we'd be here (a couple kids, a few businesses, and a cat) in such a short time! I love you!

austen and addison: y'all are the best kids on the planet. hands down. no contest. thanks for putting up with my erratic sleep patterns and crazy work habits... big hugs and kisses to both of you.

flare: welcome... so glad you're a snuggler. feel free to sleep on my hard drive, any time :)

Ok, sorry for the random outburst, but I just wanted to make sure y'all knew I love my family!

Adding a few random family images, because, of course, no post is complete without pictures!

loves!

An image Nathan took of my beautiful children during Addison's birthday week this year.
Same day, a perfect image of the people I love.
Nathan captured this of me and the kids during birthday week, too.
From our anniversary trip last year... while flying kites in the NC dunes.
Austen's first day of school... Addy wasn't sure what to think.
Love them.
An oft-times bedtime ritual.
Budding photographer...
His results.
Thanks, Rich, for this wonderful image of my husband and I. Life is about laughter... let's do it more.

Baby Zachary...4 months old!
Monday, August 04, 2008

After I finished my session with Baby Harper, I headed over to hang out with Rachel, Stephen, and Baby Zachary.

I don't get to see Rachel and Stephen nearly often enough, so it was excited to spend a little time with them.

Enjoy the slideshow!

love you guys,

-amber

Such a happy and cute family!
Baby Zachary is *almost* sitting up! He can hold that position for a few seconds before he loses his balance.
(i say it over and over again, changing tables always have the BEST light!)
I love to see Stephen with his son. So cute.
He's getting so big!
